World Class Performance from Windsor’s Julia Lane
31-10-2022
A local swimmer with Down Syndrome is coming back from Portugal with a mitt full of medals!
Julia Lane, daughter of long-time TransForm Manager for Windsor-Essex hospitals Cynthia Lane, put her skills to the test at the Down Syndrome World Swimming Championships last month winning six of the seven medals captured by Canadian swimmers.
In total, she brought home gold in the 50-metre and 100-metre butterfly events, silver in the 50-metre freestyle and bronze in the 100-metre, 200-metre and 800-metre freestyle events. On top of that, she was the only Canadian female to make the podium!
Julia’s individual performance landed her 3rd place worldwide in her division!
We featured Julia in The Pulse in September - learn more HERE about how she got into swimming.
Amazing job Julia! Congratulations from everyone at Windsor Regional Hospital!
