HDGH Nurse Wins July’s Mega Monthly 50/50 Draw

A Registered Practical Nurse for close to four decades thought it was a joke when she learned she was the July winner of the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation’s Mega Monthly 50/50 Draw.
Carrie Letourneau works in the Psychiatry Department at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare and pocketed $60,285.
“It’s a nice little pre-retirement boost,” she said as she hopes to retire in 2022. She also wants to travel when it is safe again and is currently in the middle of renovating her kitchen so the money will help pay for new appliances. She will also give some money to family and friends.
She began her nursing career in 1982 at Windsor Regional Hospital in Paediatrics.
She then moved to Grace Hospital, Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital, Windsor Regional Hospital and is currently at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare.
She has been caring for psychiatry patients since 1996.
She purchased the tickets to support the hospital, not necessarily to win.
“Anything that will help provide equipment to the hospital and anything for the patients,” she said.
So far in 2021, the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation’s Mega Monthly 50/50 has awarded over $632,000 in prizes.
