surgical Safari

Outpatient surgery is performed on children from newborns and up until the sixteenth birthday. The most common surgeries performed are tonsillectomies and adenoidectomies, myringotomies, hernia repairs, and dental surgery.

We are now offering a Surgical Safari: Pre-Op Tour to help reduce the anxieties of having a child undergo surgery.

The Surgical Safari tour is a preoperative tour for children having surgery at Windsor Regional Hospital. On the tour, we provide age-appropriate explanations of medical equipment and show your child the areas of the hospital he or she will visit on their day of surgery.

For more information or to schedule a tour, call Child Life Services at 519-254-5577 ext. 53408.

This surgical Safari video takes you inside the hospital to get familiar with the departments and equipment your child can expect during his or her surgery.
