To keep the hiring of students for the Summer Student Program fair and equitable, the selection of students to be considered is based on established qualifications and availability, with successful applicants entered into a lottery for final selection. Therefore, student applicants that have the required qualifications and available schedules will ALL be selected by a lottery system. Past employment with the hospital is not a priority.
The number of students to be hired for the current year is yet to be determined. The HR Department will contact applicants for a telephone screen interview. Those successful in that process will be asked to attend a personal interview. Those successful after the interview process will be selected by a lottery.
Students being offered Summer Student employment will be required to present their original valid and recognized Food Handler Certificate at the time of documentation Failure to provide an original valid and recognized Safe Food Handling Certificate as required will result in ineligibility and subsequent disqualification.
