Windsor Regional Hospital Coronary Care includes 5 Critical Care Unit (CCU) Beds and 14 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Beds.  ICU is Intensivist led and is considered a "closed unit" (Intensivist has to admit all patients).  The Intensivist is available (in-house or on-call) for ICU patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  In addition to the Intensivist, the ICU has a Nurse Practioner on site Tuesday through Friday.

Cardiologists admit to the CCU Unit.  They are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 354 days a year.  The CCU Unit is includes 7 isoloation rooms. This is general medical/surgical ICU with high percentages of respiratory and gastro-intestinal diagnoses. Our CCU consists of patients with coronary diagnosis.
