Responsible to the Coordinator, Payroll or designate, the Payroll Clerk performs payroll duties to ensure the accumulation of timely, accurate and complete financial and statistical information. This includes: processing of payroll transactions in accordance with approved policies, procedures and collective agreement provisions; preparing and reconciling payment of payroll obligations such as union dues, credit union and Canada Savings Bonds; calculation of retroactive and other miscellaneous payments to employees; maintenance of sick and vacation banks in accordance with approved policies, procedures and collective agreement provisions and accumulation and summarizing of Accounts Payable information. The Payroll Clerk complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.
