18.755 Secretary, learning resources (part Time)


Reporting to the Director/ Manager, Learning and Workplace Development, the Secretary works directly with the Learning Resources, and Multi Media Team members, SOP and Library and various customer groups. The Secretary maintains data entry including E Learn user data base, learner attendance records and reports; and month end stats. This position processes tuition Assistance Applications, assists Learning Consultants with preparing materials, requesting User ID’s, provides receptionist functions, answers phones, provides required resources/information including class registration, room bookings. The secretary also maintains electronic program registration process, provides user software support for various applications, maintains records that include: sick time, vacations, holidays, weekly payroll sheets. The Secretary provides assistance with written correspondence, sorts, screens and distributes mail to team members, faxing, photocopying, filing and completing requisitions. This position requires an individual with significant degree of independence, organizational skills and good judgement. The Secretary complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.


  • Graduate of a recognized secondary institute of education - required
  • Completion of a minimum 2 years Community College commercial training or equivalent is required
  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a clerical position – required
  • Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm required (will be tested)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required (will be tested)
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills are required Software: Microsoft Office, MS Access, Word, Power Point, Excel, - will be tested

  • Demonstrated a commitment to participate in Quality Improvement Initiatives/Programs;
  • General good health and a level of fitness appropriate for the demands of the position
  • Willingness to learn administrative duties associated with Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Completes weekly payroll using Kronos system
