India Canada Dinner Tasteful In Many Ways

The annual India Canada Association (Windsor-Essex County) Gala Dinner, held on September 15 at the Fogolar Furlan Club turned out to be a colourful and enlightening evening.

Guests wore a vast assortment of saris, enjoyed delicious appetizers, dinner prepared by Caesars Windsor chefs and entertainment on all levels from dancing to soloists.

Guest speaker, Madam Justice Marjusha Pawagi is a judge, mother, author and stem cell cancer survivor. Justice Pawagi gave a passionate talk on her life and achieving great things as a South Asian. Being a Canadian citizen now, she has overcome cancer and achieved an appointment to the Bench, presiding at the Ontario Court of Justice, Family Court in Brampton, Ontario.

During the evening, two local physicians were honoured as role models in the community and contributing to social on many levels. They were, Dr. Sindu Kanjeekal, Oncologist and Researcher with the Windsor Regional Cancer Program and, Dr. Amit Bagga, Nephrologist with the Renal Dialysis Program at Windsor Regional Hospital. Congratulations to both of them!

The evening carried on with festive dancing and camaraderie.
