RUN for WINDSOR Announced at future Urgent Care Centre

The Run Date has changed to Saturday, May 13th, 2017

Windsor, ON. 
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at (Windsor Chapter) in cooperation with the City of Windsor and Windsor Regional Hospital will announce an initiative called ‘Run for Windsor’ a new annual fundraising event in support of the future Windsor Regional Urgent Care Centre, proposed at the Grace Site and, part of the Windsor-Essex Hospitals System project.

Date:               Wednesday, February 15, 2017
Time:              11:00 a.m.
Location:        Future Urgent Care Centre, Grace Site
                        (near corner of University Ave. W. and Crawford Ave.)

 

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at has been in Canada for over 50 years and takes pride in giving back to the community.  Run for Windsor, a first in the community has seen similar events hosted by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at in Vaughan, Bradford, Milton, ON and Calgary, AL. 

Aleem Khan, President, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, during its annual 2016 banquet, announced the run/walk initiative to raise funds for the proposed, future Urgent Care Centre for Windsor Regional Hospital, setting a goal of $500,000 over a 10 year pledge

“Love for homeland is part of the Ahmadiyya Muslim faith and this initiative, to help make the region’s vision for a new Windsor-Essex Hospitals System a reality is a clear demonstration of this,” said Drew Dilkens, Mayor of the Corporation of the City of Windsor.  The Mayor went on to state, “The new system will transform the delivery of healthcare in Windsor-Essex and this event gives all of us an opportunity to get some exercise while contributing in a meaningful way to the future of healthcare in this region.”

“Choosing to support the future Windsor Regional Hospital Urgent Care Centre at the former Grace Site through the Run for Windsor event is a great testimonial to the future of the Windsor-Essex Hospitals System.  I thank the Ahmadiyya Muslin Jama’at for their forward-thinking to improve access to state-of-the-art healthcare facilities for the citizens of Windsor and Essex County,” stated David Musyj, President and CEO, Windsor Regional Hospital.
