14.279 Director, Mental Health Program (Full Time)


Job Summary
 

The Program Director is responsible for managing all aspects of the program and services provided at Windsor Regional Hospital. The Director will work collaboratively to strengthen and develop partnerships within WRH and the Erie St. Clair LHIN to ensure the delivery of high quality care and outcomes and to facilitate integration and coordination of excellent patient care. The Director will apply strategic operations knowledge and a broad-based clinical or management expertise across an integrated patient care portfolio and work collaboratively with other community agencies and HDGHC to ensure continuity of care.

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborating with the Chief Nursing Executive/Officer, Vice President, Managers, program staff and physicians in developing a vision, mission, philosophy for the surgical program that is consistent with the mission, values and strategy of Windsor Regional Hospital.
  • Fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Providing leadership in establishing standardized approaches and processes in the program, including admission and discharge practices, bed utilization, team communication, documentation, and the development and use of patient care pathways.
  • Collaborating with all stake holders to set realistic program goals, targets, standards and outcomes and to manage and report results in collaboration with the Chief Nursing Executive/Officer and Managers.
  • Liaising effectively with professional discipline coordinators, allied health professional staff and support staff assigned to the women’s and children’s program
  • Developing and maintaining close linkage and liaison with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Collaborating with the Chief Nursing Executive/Officer to ensure that planning for the program is compatible with corporate, community and Ministry goals.
  • Supporting and maintaining the development of a program culture that promotes exemplary patient care as well as fosters professional and personal satisfaction for all program staff and affiliates.
  • Co-leading a surgical program advisory committee.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse, registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or a related discipline required.
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years relevant clinical experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years operational management experience preferred.
  • French Language proficiency an asset.
