Manager of Operations, Systemic Program (Full Time)


Job Summary
 

This position functions in collaboration with the Manager of Operations- Radiation Program, Manager of Palliative & Psychosocial Program 4 W Operations Manager and the Program Clinical Lead. This position includes the Chemo Suite, Outpatient Clinics, Pharmacy and Support staff & the Regional Systemic Program. Responsibilities include directing daily processes and activities, contributing to; preparing and managing budgets; assessing resource requirements; evaluating performance; developing and administering policy; development of program standards, resolving complaints, and ensuring workplace safety participating in professional training and development programs, and support for performance of quality & safety/ organization & delivery of CCO’s Regional Systemic Therapy in Erie St. Clair.

Qualifications

  • 5 years supervisory or management experience required.
  • Bachelors degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of relevant management experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Masters in Health Administration preferred.
  • Program management skills including strategic planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the regional health care system and cancer planning and performance.
  • Sensitivity to multi-cultural clientele and issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite, PowerPoint and utilization of the Internet as a resource.
  • Demonstrated commitment to life long learning.
  • French Language proficiency an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and direct the daily activities within the Systemic Program, consulting with all related program units. Review all processes to ensure an efficient, effective and high-quality level of program operation is being maintained.
  • Contribute to preparing and managing the operating budgets for Systemic Program including forecasting, approval of expenditures, etc. Assisting with reviewing and revising budget as required. Ensure the appropriate utilization of staff and equipment resources. Take the necessary corrective action to resolve problems.
  • Collaborate with staff within the Systemic Program to introduce new activities or techniques, respond to requests for new services, resolve problems, and improve the overall service and technical quality of the planning and treatment delivery processes. Ensure that all relevant Federal and Provincial Legislation requirements are met concerning the Systemic safety of Cancer Program.
  • Responsible for managing human resources including; recruitment, training, performance assessment, approval of leaves of absence, disciplinary actions, etc. Conduct regular performance development activities with staff, obtaining contributory input from related program personnel. Set performance goals with staff as developed collaboratively within the Program.
  • Ensure that information accuracy, integrity and confidentiality is maintained in accordance with Cancer Program and CCO policies. Assist with the development of policies and standards for Systemic program in collaboration with other program members. Review and revise policies as appropriate.
