12.691 Manager, Radiation Therapy (Temporary Full Time)

Job Summary

Reporting to the Regional Vice President of the Regional Cancer Program, the Manager of Radiation Therapy plans, organizes, directs and evaluates the clerical and technical staff, resources and functioning of the Radiation Therapy processes including preparation for and delivery of radiation treatment, and quality assurance assessment of this process. Responsibilities include directing processes and activities, preparing and managing budgets, assessing resource requirements, evaluating performance, developing and administering policy, participating in professional training and development programs, developing program standards, resolving complaints, and ensuring workplace safety.


  • CMRTO registration
  • CAMRT/OAMRT registration/eligible with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of practical related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • BSc in Radiation Sciences and/or Masters degree in Health related studies are considered an asset
  • Advanced certification or BSc with concentration in health science considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated supervisory/management experience is required.
  • Demonstrated organization, analytical, problem-solving and leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills using both oral and written format.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft office software applications.
  • French Language proficiency an asset.


  • Plan, organize and direct the activities within the area of Radiation Therapy, consulting with all related program units. Review all processes to ensure an efficient, effective and high-quality level of program operation is being maintained. Revise procedures as necessary. Promote effective work team operations.
  • Prepare and manage the operating budgets for Radiation Therapy processes including forecasting, approval of expenditures, etc. Ensure the appropriate utilization of staff and equipment resources.
  • Consult and negotiate with the Manager, Clinical Operations, Radiation Oncologist, Medical Physics, and Dosimetry Program Units to introduce new activities or techniques, respond to requests and resolve problems, and improve the overall service and technical quality of the planning and treatment delivery processes. Ensure that all relevant Federal and Provincial Legislation requirements are met concerning the radiation safety of WRCC.
  • Supervise staff reporting including; recruitment, training, performance assessment, approval of leaves of absence, disciplinary actions, etc. Set performance goals with staff as developed collaboratively within the Program.
