12.431 Manager, Integrated Cancer Screening (Full Time)

Job Summary 

The Manager works in collaboration with the Regional Breast Imaging Lead and Primary Care Lead within a provincial and regional framework and with multiple community partners, to develop and implement a quality, focused approach to cancer risk reduction and integrated cancer screening with the ultimate goal of reducing the incidence and impact of cancer within the Erie St Clair region. The Manager also functions in collaboration with the Manager, Regional Cancer Program and Manager, Data & Diagnostic Assessment Program.

The Manager provides leadership in the development, coordination and evaluation of regional cancer prevention and screening initiatives ensuring alignment with Cancer Care Ontario, Integrated Cancer Screening and Erie St Clair Regional Cancer Program goals, priorities and initiatives. The manager is accountable for all aspects of Integrated Cancer Screening (ICS) regional business planning; ensuring quality standards and ICS agreement deliverables are achieved including performance and reporting at a regional level. The Manager leads or provides oversight to program related quality improvement initiatives undertaken at a provincial or regional level. In support of organizational strategies and staff satisfaction initiatives, the Manager promotes the development of a motivated and cohesive ICS team and supports educational strategies to enhance staff knowledge with respect to professional practices and patient care.

Quality Improvement initiatives, leading to LHIN wide system of care improvements, are critical to the success of all ESC RCP clinical programs. The Manager, RCP provides leadership to the identification, planning, implementation and evaluation of regional Quality Improvement projects and initiatives across the continuum of cancer care.


  • Bachelors degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Demonstrated 5 years supervisory/ management experience required.
  • Masters degree in Health/ Business related studies is considered an asset
  • Program management skills including strategic planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated organization, analytical, problem solving and leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the regional health care system.
  • Sensitivity to multi-cultural clientele and issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite, PowerPoint and utilization of the Internet as a resource.
  • French Language proficiency is an asset


  • Leads annual planning processes to develop regional cancer screening goals and objectives aligned with the Ontario Cancer Plan, Cancer Care Ontario (CCO) strategic priorities and the Erie St Clair Regional Cancer Program (ESC RCP) strategic goals specifically related to cancer prevention & integrated cancer screening. Submits annual business plans to CCO as required.
  • Provides administrative leadership and ensures support of the Regional Primary Care Lead and related Prevention and Screening initiatives.
  • Gathers and analyses data/trend information with respect to prevention and screening program indicators identifying potential quality improvement opportunities
  • Works closely and collaboratively with CCO on implementation activities related to ICS.
  • Manages regional screening work plans to achieve benchmark targets for cancer screening & prevention performance indicators.
