12.141 - Child & Youth Worker (French Speaking)

Job Summary 

Reporting to the Co-coordinator of the Milieu Program, the Child and Youth Worker I will work out of the Regional Children’s Center - Intensive Family Services, Milieu Program. The Child and Youth Care Worker, under the supervision of the Manager of the Milieu Program and in consultation with the treatment team, is involved in the delivery of the Child and Youth Worker portion of the treatment plan. The incumbent is responsible for the delivery of care that is consistent with the vision and values of the hospital and the standards of relevant professional organizations. The CYW I complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the Hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.

  • Must possess a diploma as a Child and Youth Worker from a Canadian Community College or University which offers a recognized Child and Youth Worker training
  • French language fluency - required
  • Must be eligible for a Class ‘F’ license
  • Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License with the use of a car and insurance in accordance with Windsor Regional Hospital policy.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with community agency representative, other professionals, children and their families
  • Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Willingness and ability to respond to parents and the community in and expeditious, courteous, helpful manner
  • Thorough understanding of confidentiality issues when dealing with children/youth and families
  • General good health and a level of fitness appropriate to the demands of the position
