A community-based service for individuals who have sustained a brain injury.

This is a community-based service for individuals who have sustained a brain injury.  The Acquired Brain Injury (A.B.I.) Consultation Team is committed to facilitating community reintegration and enhancing the psychosocial functioning of individuals with brain injury.  The team collaborates with other professionals and family members to promote the best possible care for the client in his or her own environment.

Detailed, individualized assessments of clients' psychosocial functioning, cognitive abilities, and daily living skills will be provided.  Education is offered to clients, caregivers and professionals on various ways to manage the altered lifestyles resulting from injuries.

Consultation and treatment planning are available for caregivers and professionals to assist clients to achieve their goals.  Intervention techniques are recommended on an individualized basis to meet the clients' needs.  Follow-up is provided to ensure recommendations are effective.
