Birthday Bash Supports Pediatrics

Every year for their birthdays sisters Ava (11) and Bree (10) Eid hit the ice in support of charity. The sisters whose birthdays are days apart in January both play hockey.

A few years ago they decided that in lieu of receiving gifts for their birthdays, they would like their friends to make a donation on their behalf. It is now an annual tradition for the Eid family to rent the main bowl of ice at the WFCU Centre to hold this birthday fundraising hockey game.

This year the girls decided to direct the funds to the Pediatric department at Windsor Regional Hospitals. Ava and Bree recently visiting the hospital to personally deliver the $2,200 raised at this year’s party.

“We are most grateful to the Eid sisters for their selfless generosity. These funds will be used to purchase supplies for our Child Life program,” says Ron Foster, Vice-President, Public Affairs, Communication & Philanthropy.
