Shalom from Windsor’s Jewish Community

After being constructed at Devonshire Mall, a gigantic 5000 piece Lego Menorah was put on display in the Peadiatric Unit of Windsor Regional Hospital.

The construction of a giant Lego Menorah highlighted the annual Chanukah celebration in Windsor and Essex County. The initiative to construct the Lego Menorah was sponsored by the Jewish Student Centre and the Jewish community.

“We are always looking for new ideas to keep children excited about Chanukah,” stated Rabbi Sholom Galperin, Director of the Windsor Jewish Student Centre. “The uniqueness of the Menorah is what the child will remember and a way to teach young people about Judaism and its history.”

In a gesture of goodwill, the Lego Menorah was on display during the holiday season. It was recently dismantled and a donation of Legos made to the department.
