Recently the Windsor Roseland Rotary Club hosted an annual luncheon of their volunteers who generously knit and donate warming caps for newborns at Windsor Regional Hospital.

Alissa Howe- Poisson, Clinical Practice Manager, Family Birthing Centre was the guest speaker – discussing the “Period of Purple Crying” – an initiative to bring awareness and assist parents of newborns with coping with crying babies. To reinforce and bring awareness to this campaign the knitters were given purple wool. 3679 babies were born at Windsor Regional Hospital between April 1, 2010 and March 31, 2011.
