Shrine Club Donate an Additional $100,000 to Paediatric Services

Member of the Moramos Shrine Club of Windsor visited and toured Paediatric Services at Windsor Regional Hospital and presented a $100,000 donation toward future medical equipment and furnishing needs.

“Since 1922, members have been supporting Shriners Hospitals For Children throughout North America, and the Windsor Moramos Shrine Club is proud to offer assistance to children right here in Windsor.” said Walter Fraser, Moramos Shrine Club President.

In the last two year, Windsor Regional Hospital Paediatric Services cared for 23,386 children. Recent medical equipment purchases include: Blood Pressure Cuffs, IV Pumps, Syringe Pumps and Hi Low Beds.

“Over 80% of children cared for at Windsor Regional Hospital in Paediatric Services are outpatient and the remainder in Inpatient Services tend to be very sick and more complex.” stated Karen McCullough, Vice President, Acute Care & Chief Nursing Executive.

Paediatric Services at Windsor Regional Hospital includes a 33-bed Inpatient Unit and several Clinics such as Metabolic (Diabetes); Paediatric Oncology Satellite Unit; Medical Day Care; Asthma; Allergy; Cystic Fibrosis, Orthopedics and Day Surgery. The Paediatric Program is also supported by Child Life Services and the (PERT) Paediatric Emergency Response Team.
